Refrigerator seal
Your refrigerator is more than just where you hang art work and takeout menus: it's the powerhouse appliance for your home, keeping your food cold and fresh.
Help it do its job by checking the door seal annually. It's a quick homeowner task that takes a few minutes but can save you a lot of time and fresh produce.
Have you noticed moisture build-up or condensation in your fridge? Do you hear it constantly running?
These might be signs that your refrigerator seal is damaged, loose, or simply has a few crumbs that needs to be cleared away.
SCRUB A DUB
Fill a bowl with squirt of soap and warm water to make a cleaning solution. Use an old toothbrush to gently scrub the seal around your refrigerator door and then wipe dry with a clean cloth.
CHECK IT OUT
To check the seal, insert a piece of paper or a dollar bill between the door and the fridge. Slowly pull — if the paper comes out without tension then it might be time to repair or replace. Repeat around the entirety of the seal.
